Performers include: Oratorio Society of New York Susanna Phillips, Soprano Matthew Plenk, Tenor John Moore, Baritone Oratorio Society of New York Chorus and Orchestra Kent Tritle, Conductor Juraj Filas is a Slovak composer whose works include more than 100 compositions: symphonies, cantatas, concerts numerous compositions for chamber music, as well as the prize-winning TV opera 'momento mori'; a concerto grosso 'Copernicus'; the opera 'Jane Eyre' (2010); 'The Wisdom of the Wise Man', a cantata for choir, violoncello and organ; 'The Song of Solomon' and a cantata for soli, choir and orchestra. His composition style strives to maintain the distinct European musical tradition of the masters such as Verdi, Mahler and Beethoven using a lyrical and emotional musical language.
