How to Turn Off the Camera Sound on iPhones Flip the Silent Switch The easiest way to turn off the camera sound on your iPhone 8, 7, 6, SE, or any other model is to flip the mute switch on the side of your device. Every iPhone model has this switch on the top of the left-hand side of the phone. If the switch is closer to the screen, your device will play sounds as normal. When it’s in the Silent position, you’ll see orange underneath it.
While in silent mode, aside from only vibrating for alerts, it also prevents the camera sound from playing. Your iPhone’s camera sound plays at the volume currently set on your device. You can on the side of your phone to adjust this, but if you press them while using the camera, it will take a picture. Thus, before you open the Camera app, simply press and hold the Volume down button until it shows Mute.
You can also swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access Control Center and lower the volume that way. Lowering it all the way will will mute the camera sound effect. How to Turn Off the Screenshot Sound on iPhones If you want to disable the similar sound effect that plays when you take a screenshot, simply flip the mute switch to the Silent position (so orange shows). Note that if you live in Japan or Korea, all phones sold in those regions have a hard-coded camera sound that you cannot disable. This is to prevent people from taking inappropriate pictures of others without their knowledge. Thus, the only way to disable those sounds is through jailbreak methods, which is beyond the scope of this article.

Hello Cary (I hope I spelled your name correctly): I was very pleased to come across your YouTube tutorial on audacity. I went through your step-by-step process on removing a vocal from a pre-recorded piece of Christian music. I Will be singing this piece of music for our church in the mid of January. After I went through much of your tutorial, I got suspicious that you were dealing with a Windows version of the program. I happen to be on the Macintosh, With the latest operating system, and it appears that I’m somewhat dead in the water.

I have had quite a few people say the process doesn’t work for them and I haven’t thought to ask if they were on Mac or PC. I’m not sure if there’s any work around for Mac. I am willing to give it a try for you, but I do so as part of my business, which is $100 per hour (about how long it would take to do it). And I can make no guarantees it may work, may not, and may only work partly. Each track of music is entirely different.

In the meantime, because what I was trying to do was delete a soloist intro the first minute of a song, I have chosen rather to just sing along as a duet with that lead soloist, and then enter into the rest of the song as if I were part of the choir.
