Friendly greetings! Outside of a DAW (or any workstation) environment I'm looking for a simple app for Mac that does the following:. I can drag a WAV audio file into it and it will loop accurately and seamlessly. I don't need playlists, I don't need any additional features (I know some sample editors can do this). Just focused on something that will loop seamlessly.
Although if there's extra stuff I can easily ignore, that's cool too. I want the audio loop-player equivalent of those distraction-free writing environments. It's how I prefer to audition various loops — whether it's a crufty breakbeat or the color of wind rushing.
I'll let them loop many times to get in a vibe, while I work on something else or read news articles. It feels meditative, a mantra. Then I'll switch to another loop. Then another, in due time. So while the app will be mostly backgrounding, UI (or lack thereof) and immediacy matter. In that respect, a playlist is useful if I need to click 'NEXT', but not essential. If you can relate, this could be useful for you, too.
What I've churned through already: iTunes doesn't do it reliably (sometimes there's a skip at the end of a playthrough), QuickTime Player and others don't loop as expected either. I have tried some other tools but they were inelegant and unfocused. Recycle is too heavy.
